Richard E. Meyer, 78, died in Oak Park on March 13, 2019. He was born on April 25, 1940, on the family farm near Gaylord, Kansas, a few miles from where the song "Home on the Range" was composed. He loved his farm heritage and returned to Kansas regularly to visit his extended family.

Gerry W. Voll, 87, of Oak Park, formerly of Wheaton, died on Feb. 21, 2019. Born on April 23, 1931, he was a 1949 graduate of Proviso High School and served with the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War.

Mary Alice Dixon (nee Nykiel), 69, formerly of Oak Park, died on Feb. 10, 2019, after a long illness at her Westchester home, surrounded by her family.

Rev. Richard Billings, 94, who served as minister of Unity of Oak Park for 50 years, died on Feb. 18, 2019. Born on Aug. 30, 1924 on a farm near Wyandot, Ohio, he completed grade school in a one-room school house and high school in the town of Bucyrus and was drafted out of Ohio State University in Columbus.

Dominican University and the village of River Forest lost an influential community leader and friend with the passing of Sister Jean Murray on Feb. 14, 2019. Sr. Jean died at the age of 91 at the Dominican Motherhouse in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin.

Mary (Maureen) Kelleher (nee O'Leary), 96, died on Feb. 9, 2019. She was a native of Breahig, Castleisland, Co. Kerry, Ireland.

Alfred Henry Boots, 87, died peacefully at his home on Feb. 16, 2019, with his wife Joanne by his side. He graduated from Lane Tech High School, served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, and earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois. The couple married in 1959 and had two sons.

Josephine Blaber (nee Dooley), 88, of Oak Park and Palm Springs, California, died on Feb. 3, 2019. Born on July 12, 1930, she was a brilliant and prolific artist and a cherished and trend-setting mom and grandma.
