Felice Elka Witmer, 72, died on April 19, 2019 at her Fort Wayne, Indiana home. Born in San Angelo, Texas to the late Herman “Tommy” Monroe Starer and Edith Althea Starer, she married the love of her life, Herman “Harry” John Witmer, on Oct. 17, 1970. The couple lived in Oak Park for many years.
She worked as a medical practice manager for 35 years in the Chicago area. A dedicated worker, she received commendations from the state of Illinois for her work. A great cook, she was known for her hoagie sandwiches, Italian meatballs, and matzo ball soup.
Most of all, she was a strong family woman who made sure all were loved and well-fed.
Felice Witmer is survived by Herman Witmer, her husband of 48½ years; her children, Rachel Witmer and John (Stephanie) Witmer; and her grandchildren, Emma Thompson, Henry Thompson, Derek Witmer, Megan Witmer, and Tyler Witmer.
Services have been held.
