River Forest Little League watch party on Friday afternoon

The village of River Forest will hold a watch party for the local Little League's game at the semi-finals of the Little League World Series Great Lakes Regional at 4 p.m. on Aug. 9 at Village Hall, 400 Park Ave. The game will is being televised on the cable sports network ESPN.

The River Forest 12-under baseball team won the Illinois Little League state championship last week, and defeated Wisconsin state champs, Glendale, 7-3 at the Great Lakes Regional Tournament opener in Westfield, Indiana on Aug. 4.

River Forest is 26-7 overall this summer. The 12U Great Lakes Regional Tournament features state champions from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Michigan.
