Well, it's official. Anthony Clark, the outspoken Oak Park and River Forest High School teacher and founder of the nonprofit social justice organization Suburban Unity Alliance, is running for Congress again.

Clark ran against Congressman Danny K. Davis for the 7th Congressional District seat in the Democratic primary for on March 20, 2018. Davis, the 22-year incumbent, defeated Clark 74 percent to 26 percent.

But that was just a trial run. Clark vowed last year that he would run again. Last year, Clark had the backing of Brand New Congress and Justice Democrats — two political organizations affiliated with Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Clark, who is running as a Democratic Socialist, announced his candidacy on April 8 in a written statement and a video uploaded to his campaign website. In the video, Clark read a letter from his father.

"Anthony Clark 2020, is a revolutionary 100% grassroots campaign speaking truth to power as we address the root causes that have led to the systemic issues we currently face," Clark's statement reads. "We can no longer afford to be content, comfortable, or silent as white supremacy & capitalism have led to a system were rising inequality continues to affect every aspect of life."

Very nice revision of the halo shot in the photo. The only way for him to win is for Davis to drop out and he does not pick a successor. Representatives serve a short term , designed for the average man to put his tools down for a short term, go to D.C.represent the people from his area, and get out and let someone else do the job, balanced by the longer termed senators who are supposed to be better educated, and professional political leaders. Will Clark promise and keep his promise to term limits?

Ongoing carnage in the Middle East, endless episodes of mass killings in the United States and around the world, racism deep in the DNA of my native land, our collective blind eye to radical economic injustice and climate change, and the grotesque parade of grandstanding political "leaders" who bloviate about God and prayer while doing squat about gun violence and other evils....Clark is unafraid to speak truth to power. I wish him luck and courage this second time around! Good luck Anthony!

Is OPRF going to be paying him while he takes on this new full time job of being a candidate?

A self-proclaimed "community activist" who is also an anti-capitalist "revolutionary" that is running under the Marxist socialist banner? Well, what a perfect representative of Oak Park in this day and age.
