Dominican students get their head shaved for St. Baldrick's

More than 200 Dominican University students and staff watched as 15 brave souls got their heads shaved at the school's annual "DU Goes Bald" fundraiser. on March 15, which raised $3,000 for the nonprofit St. Baldrick's Foundation, which conducts research and raises toward childhood cancer. 

During the three years the event has been held, Dominican has raised more than $10,000 for cancer research, she said. 

"The event itself is very moving, because everyone comes together for something that is much larger than any of us," said Moira Kennedy, a senior at Dominican who helped organize the event. "We all want to see change, and that is why we do it."
