Attendance was down at the Poplar Park Community Church the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. It happened every year.

It's been almost a year since I wrote my first column imagining the cast of a movie based on the Trump administration. A lot has changed — all for the worse — so here's an update with some new characters. I expect I'll be writing another update or two when the various trials start.

As the years have gone by, I find that I write less and less about village government. My children have long since graduated from the high school. Their families live nearby, but not in the village.

Although rewarding once you arrive, it's not always easy to get to the library with small children. You're juggling car seats and strollers, bottles and snacks, nap times, and perhaps a meltdown or two.

First, it is important to understand that both sides of this issue desire the same end result: the end of gun violence. The two entities define themselves as the "Rights" group who defend the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution and the "Responsibilities" group who argue for more laws and regulations.

Upon reading the story titled, "Gang burials a problem in western suburbs" in the May 30 edition of Wednesday Journal, I wondered if the easiest solution isn't the best. That is, of course, banning funeral processions.
