A man was robbed at gunpoint in the 500 block of South Scoville Avenue at 9:55 p.m. on Feb. 8, according to the Oak Park Police Department.

The victim was walking southbound on Scoville, near the Adams intersection, when a white Lexus pulled up and a man stepped out of the driver's side door. He displayed a silver handgun and demanded the man's possessions.

The victim handed over his wallet, which contained credit cards and $6, a pair of Monster DNA headphones and a black iPhone 6S. The offender re-entered his vehicle and headed southbound on Scoville Avenue. The estimated loss is $525.

The offender was described as a black man between the ages of 20 and 25, 5-foot-10, with a thin build and wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.

Sure thing, Ramona. I'll get right to the issue of solving crime right after I eradicate world hunger and cure cancer. What does Oak Park being a village of "love and tolerance," or "Hate Has No Home Here" signs have to do with anything at all? Because it appears to be a snide (not to mention lazy and nonsensical) insinuation that when crimes are committed in Oak Park, progressives have nobody to blame but themselves (ostensibly, for being soft on crime). You and John Wilharm (who doesn't even live in OP but just comes on here to troll) are trying to connect dots where there are none.

@ Alice Wellington: Wed 13 Feb Chicago Sun Times editorial Cracking down on Car Hijacking. Seems as a juvenile was arrested twice in two days for Auto Hijacking and was let go twice with the promise to return to court. I would say the effort for restorative juvenile justice in this case be denied

Or, the statement is from a person who sees the ironic twist of the social condition of a community that outreaches to minority groups and individual persons violate the slim trust making going forward to a just society more difficult. A statement of the human condition and conduct and not the poles of political action. Along the lines of Rev. Jesse Jacksons quote of when ne hears footsteps behind him he is relieved that the footsteps are from a white person or The Outlaw Calverra quote from the movie the Magnificent 7, said, "Sooner or later you must answer for every good deed" Calverra also said, "If God did not want them shorn, he would not have made them sheep"

So what's the answer Mike? Instead of criticizing a "line" someone uses, how about offering a solution. Are we not a village of "love and tolerance"? How many "Hate Has No Home Here" signs do we have in our front yards?

"How can this be happening in the OP? We are a village of love and tolerance." Yawn...OP conservatives really need a new line.

And here's the explanation. "Dozens of juveniles were charged last year in Chicago for allegedly pointing guns at motorists and stealing their cars, but most were not detained longer than 24 hours, according to court records obtained by the Sun-Times." https://chicago.suntimes.com/chicago-politics/juveniles-armed-carjackings-released-within-24-hours/

How can this be happening in the OP? We are a village of love and tolerance.
